Baltic freight prices rise on China steel surge
The Baltic Exchange's main sea freight index .BADI, which tracks rates to ship dry commodities, and the capesize market rose again on Thursday on strong Chinese demand, brokers said.

Vale quits from iron ore talk on huge price bifurcation, news
"Vale has retreated from the annual iron ore talk as China's offer is too low and is unacceptable to the company" said a Hebei based steel analyst. The news then was confirmed by two other steel mills also from Hebei. But Vale's e-mail to reporter yesterday declined to make any comments.

Import/Export Express of Steel Product and Billet/Slab in Feb, 2010
Due to spring festival break, China’s export of finished steel products slid further to 2.49 million tons in Feb 2010, down 13.8% or by 0.4 million tons from 2.89 million tons in Jan 2010, the General Administration of Customs said in a website-posted statement dated Mar 10, 2010.
