China’s steel mills into maintenance season starting July

A growing number of Chinese steelmakers have recently joined the others announcing their maintenance plans on their steelmaking or rolling facilities starting July as the country has been into the hot summer when the demand for steel usually subsides.
As of July 2, a total of nine steel mills including two subsidiaries of Hebei Iron & Steel Group (HBIS) have commenced the maintenance on their converters, long or flat steel rolling mills, according to Mysteel’s market survey.
