BREAKING NEWS: Hebei Xinghua Steel catches fire, 7 dead

A fire on Thursday morning at Hebei Xinghua Iron & Steel Co (Xinghua Steel), a long products maker in Wu’an city in North China’s Hebei province, has claimed seven lives, according to an announcement from Hebei’s provincial Department of Emergency Management.
The fire broke out on a belt conveyer at Xinghua Steel’s sintering plant at 3:30 in the morning, according to the post. The operational status of the steelmaker remains unknown. Mysteel’s calls to the steel mill late Thursday went unanswered. Xinghua Steel was established in 1985 and boasts 2 million tonnes/year
