China’s Jan-Oct steel exports slip by a further 5.8%

China exported a total of 55.1 million tonnes of steel over the first ten months of this year, down 5.8% on year, according to the latest data released by China’s General Administration of Customs on November 8. The decline is steeper than the year-on-year decrease of 5% over the January-September period, Mysteel Global noted.
For October alone, steel exports totalled around 4.8 million tonnes, also down from the 5.3 million tonnes seen in September, the Customs data showed.
