Port Hedland’s Oct iron ore shipments stabilize on month

Total iron ore shipment volumes in October from Port Hedland, the key iron ore terminal in Western Australia, stabilized at 42 million tonnes, with those to China also steadying at 35.8 million tonnes, according to the latest shipping figures from the Pilbara Ports Authority (PPA) posted on November 13.
Last month, total iron ore shipments from Hedland increased a mere 35,016 tonnes or 0.08% on month and by 4.6% from the same month last year. Within the total, tonnage sailing to China accounted for 85.2%, lower by another slight 271,439 tonnes or 0.8% from the previous month, but 9.1%
