China’s Nov Cu concs imports jump 13% on month

China’s imports of copper concentrates and ores climbed by 12.7% on month to 2.2 million tonnes during November, according to the latest release from China’s General Administration of Customs. Last month’s volume took the January-November total to 20.1 million tonnes, also higher by 10.2% on year.
Last month’s imports of the two types of copper raw materials marked the second significant on-month rise, following October’s much larger 21% jump from September, suggesting that the domestic copper smelters are stocking up feeds for this winter, a Shanghai-based market source said.
“It may be more difficult for domestic (copper)
