China’s export sales of hot-rolled coils (HRC) improved last week as market participants in many countries gradually returned from their Christmas holiday breaks, market sources indicated on Tuesday. Exports of other steel products remained sluggish, however.
Over January 4-10, Mysteel’s export benchmark price for SS400 4.75mm HRC firmed by another $4/tonne on week to $490/t FOB Bayuquan in Northeast China’s Liaoning province, while that for SPCC 1.0mm cold-rolled coil moved up $3/t on week to $540/t FOB Tianjin port, North China.
