WEEKLY: Turkish steel scrap prices gain another $4/t

Prices of heavy melting scrap (HMS) 1&2 (80:20) to Turkey, the most representative of global scrap markets, edged up by another $4/tonne on week to $276/t as of February 21, as the country’s domestic steel scrap demand remained strong over the week of February 14-21, according to Mysteel’s latest survey.
During the survey period, more March shipment scrap cargoes were purchased by Turkish steel mills, with one Turkish mill heard to have booked a cargo of 20,000 tonnes of Baltic-origin HMS 1&2 (80:20) scrap at $276/t, Mysteel learnt from the weekly survey.
