Tangshan mills to halt furnaces again to reduce smog

Several steel producers in Tangshan, China’s top steel producing city in North China’s Hebei province, plan to halt more facilities including blast furnaces this month as the city government has announced a new round of production restrictions on industrial enterprises for environmental protection, market sources confirmed on Thursday.
The Tangshan government issued an action plan for March for fighting the city’s air pollution, which prompted district governments under its jurisdiction, including Fengnan district, Fengrun district and Qianxi county, to quickly release their respective work plans, Mysteel Global noted.
