Yancoal Australia’s Q1 saleable coal output off 6% Q-o-Q

Yancoal Australia’s saleable coal production dropped 6% on quarter but rose 2% on year over this year’s January-March quarter to reach 13.3 million tonnes on 100% share, according to the company’s quarterly report published on April 20. The lower quarter-on-quarter output reflects the adverse impact of wet weather last quarter, Mysteel Global understood.
In Q1, the marked growth of saleable coal output at Yancoal’s Moolarben operation in New South Wales, Southeast Australia, was supported by higher raw coal production and “additional underground coal being available to by-pass the coal handling and preparation plant”, according to the report.
