NBS: China’s Apr coal output up 6%, coke down 1%

For April, China’s total production of raw coal for all applications rose by 6% on year but down 4.5% on month, while coke dipped by 1.3% on year but up 1.4% on month for April, according to the data from the country’s National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), illustrating the contrast in their market situations, market sources noted.
For April, China produced about 322 million tonnes of raw coal for all
purposes, and the output over January-April added up to around 1.2
billion tonnes, or having finally got rid of on-year declines, up 1.3% on year by the end of April, according to NBS data.
