BI-WEEKLY: China iron ore concs output at 17-month high

Daily output of iron ore concentrates at the 186 Chinese mining companies under Mysteel’s regular survey grew for a seventh survey period to 525,400 tonnes/day over May 15-28, a record high since January 2019 when Mysteel commenced conducting the survey. Amid roaring demand from domestic steel mills, miners actively ramped up production as their stocks were steadily diminishing, market sources said on Friday.
As of May 28, the daily output of concentrates at the mining enterprises had risen by another 3,400 t/d over two weeks, according to Mysteel’s bi-weekly survey.
