JISF: Japan’s tinplate, TFS exports no threat to India

Japan Iron & Steel Federation (JISF) expressed regret on hearing that India’s Ministry of Commerce and Industry will recommend anti-dumping measures on Japan’s tinplate and tin-free steel (TFS) exports after having completed the probe, JISF chairman Eiji Hashimoto remarked on June 23.
India’s Ministry of Commerce and Industry suggested AD duties of $0-222/tonne on imports from Japan, $251/t from South Korea, $310/t from EU, and $334/t for US, which is “inappropriate and regrettable”, according to Hashimoto, also president of Nippon Steel, and he reiterated that exports of tinplate/TFS from Japan have caused no injury to the Indian steel
