WEEKLY: China’s Cr ore prices firm, FeCr prices soften

China’s prices of imported chrome ore recovered slightly as of June 28 from June 19, as demand from domestic ferrochrome (FeCr) smelters was high, with traders at ports even firming their prices, Mysteel’s weekly survey showed. On the other hand, domestic FeCr prices continued to decline over the week, reflecting the softening stainless steel market.
Mysteel’s latest survey of China’s Cr market conditions spanned June 22-28, several days longer than usual, as China enjoyed a public holiday for the Dragon Boat Festival over June 25-26 (June 28 being a make-up working day instead).
