CUSTOMS: China’s H1 iron ore imports up 9.6% on year

China’s iron ore imports grew 9.6% on year over January-June to 547 million tonnes, and the import volume for June alone scored a new high since September 2017, according to the latest statistics released by the country's General Administration of Customs on July 14.
The growth for the first half of 2020 almost doubled from the 5.1% on-year rise for the first five months of 2020, mainly as the the country’s iron ore import volume for June grew 16.8% on month or up 35.3% on year to 101.7 million tonnes, according to the official
