Tokyo Steel rolls over steel list prices for Aug sales

Tokyo Steel Manufacturing, Japan’s leading electric-arc-furnace mill, has decided to keep its carbon steel prices unchanged for August sales, waiting until the market has been accustomed to and accepted the price hike in July, Kiyoshi Imamura, sales managing director of the company confirmed on July 15.
Tokyo Steel raised
its steel list prices by Yen 3,000-5,000/tonne ($28-47/t) for July sales, which has helped to
prevent Japan’s domestic steel prices from softening further, but not much to
boost the prices, according to a Tokyo-based distributor.
