Peabody’s H1 seaborne met coal sales plunge 30%

Total seaborne metallurgical coal sales from Peabody Energy’s operations in Australia and the US slumped 29.5% on year to 3.1 million short tons (2.8 million tonnes) over January-June, due to the constraints in demand with the COVID-19 and production with a series of maintenance works, the company’s quarterly report on August 5 stated.
Over the April-June quarter, Peabody’s met coal salesplunged too by 45% on quarter or 47.6% on year to 1.1millionshort tons, and the declines were “primarily at Shoal Creek and Coppabella and Moorvale mines”with the main line conveyor system upgrade at Shoal Creek, pit sequencing at Moorvale and a planned dragline
