Anglo American’s Q3 met coal output plunges 26% on year

Anglo American’s production of metallurgical coal for export from its operations in Australia slumped by 26% on year to 4.8 million tonnes on actual share over the July-September quarter, according to its quarterly report published on October 22. The company ascribed the on-year decline primarily to the suspension of operations at the Grosvenor coal mine in Queensland since May. Anglo American’s July-September exports were still higher by 22% from April-June, however.
