WEEKLY: China coal processors slow output as stocks up

Despite the buoyant demand for coal from end-users, recently some Chinese wash plants have slowed down their processing of metallurgical coal slightly, as a tactic to hold their coal prices firm, according to Mysteel’s survey. The wash plants had noted that coal stocks at coking plants are rising.
As of November 24, the operating rate of the 110 Chinese independent and affiliated wash plants surveyed weekly by Mysteel had inched down 0.2 percentage point on week to 76.4%. The same day, total daily processed coal output was 6,200 tonnes/day lower on week at 635,300 t/d, the detailed data
