WEEKLY: Aust., Brazilian iron ore shipments down 19.8%

The total volume of iron ore dispatched to all the destinations worldwide from the 19 ports and 16 mining companies in Australia and Brazil fell to around 22.8 million tonnes over January 4-10, or down for the second week by 5.6 million tonnes or 19.8% on week, with both countries posting on-week declines, according to Mysteel’s latest survey.
Over thesurveyperiod,Brazil shipped 5million tonnes of iron ore from its nine ports worldwide, whichfell for the second week and more significantly by 3 million tonnes or 37% on week, and theAustralian iron ore shipments from its ten ports bound for global destinationseased for the second week too, down 2.7 million
