Rio Tinto aims to ship 325-340 mln t of iron ore for 2021

Rio Tino, the world’s second largest iron ore miner has raised its Pilbara iron ore shipments guidance for 2021 slightly to 325-340 million tonnes from the guidance at 324-334 million tonnes or the actual tonnage at 331 million tonnes for 2020, all on a 100% basis, according to its latest quarterly production report released on January 19.
The miner noted that the iron ore shipments guidance remains subject to weather and market conditions, and such guidance “takes into account the risks associated with tying in approximately 90 million tonnes of replacement mine capacity at existing hubs in Robe Valley, West Angelas and Western Turner Syncline Phase 2
