China met coal price dips on users’ post CNY de-stocking

The upward momentum in China’s domestically-produced coking coal price has been snapped when China has resumed working after the Chinese New Year (CNY) holiday over February 11-17, as most of domestic coke makers have stopped replenishing coal now that more Chinese coal miners will return to normal operations after the holiday and with the spring to come.
On February 22, Mysteel’s national composite coking coal price dipped by Yuan 2/tonne ($0.3/t) from February 10 to Yuan 1,153.2/t including the 13% VAT, which reversed the uptrend since late August 2020 until before the holiday, gaining a total of Yuan 183.7/t.
