WEEKLY: China coking coal washers output less on supply


Operational rate of China’s 110 independent and affiliated coking coal wash plants under Mysteel’s weekly survey eased for the second week to a seven-week low of 71.9% by April 27, suggesting the impact of the stringent safety checks on domestic coal mines and lower operations of the wash plants close to the Sino-Mongolia border for Mongolian coal processing, the latest data showed.
By April 27, the operational rate fell another 1.5 percentage points on week, and the 110 plants processed 606,300 tonnes/day of coking coal on average over April 21-27, or down 11,900 t/d on week to a three-week low, the latest survey showed.
