WEEKLY: China’s steel-mill coke stocks up to 6-week high


Total inventories of coke at the 110 Chinese steel plants in Mysteel’s weekly survey increased for the third week by 70,400 tonnes or 1.6% on week to a six-week high of 4.4 million tonnes as of June 10. The mounting stocks were a response to the acceleration in coke replenishment at some steelmakers over June 4-10, according to sources.
These stocks could sustain the mills’ operations for 13.7 days, or hitting a five-week high, Mysteel’s data showed.
