WEEKLY: China’s domestic iron ore concs prices rise


Offering prices of domestically-mined iron ore concentrates in major Chinese mining regions increased generally over June 15-18, Mysteel’s survey found. During the week, demand among steel mills in North China was relatively robust, when compared to the rising supply tightness in North China’s Shanxi province following the Daixian mining accident on June 10, market sources commented.
As of June 18, the offering prices for 66% Fe grade domestic iron ore concentratesin Tangshan, China’s largest steelmaking hub in North China’s Hebei, had increased by Yuan 30/dmt ($4.7/dmt) on week to Yuan 1,580/dmt EXW and including the 13% VAT. “The Tangshan mills’own demand for domestic iron ore was solid
