Tangshan mills asked to bank furnaces for CPC centenary


Steel producers including integrated mills and re-rollers in Tangshan, North China’s Hebei province or over 100km away from Beijing, have been requested by the local authorities to observe stricter curbs on their operations over June 24-July 1 for the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, local market sources confirmed on June 25.
Over June 24-28, they will be under orange alert and over June 29-July 1, the red alert,the highest level of emergency restrictions normally be imposed only when severely air pollution last for over four days, and prior to this, 23 local integrated mills in Tangshan had already had their 30%-50%
