WEEKLY: China’s FeCr prices rise on better sentiment


Domestic ferrochrome (FeCr) prices in China strengthened further over the week of July 23-30, mainly propelled by better market sentiment, Mysteel’s latest weekly survey has found. Survey respondents cited sound demand from steel mills at a time when supplies of the ferroalloy remain tight.
As of July 30, the price of high-carbon FeCr with 55% Cr content in North China’s Inner Mongolia was hovering at Yuan 11,000/tonne ($1,700.6/t) including the 13% VAT, up by Yuan 100/t on week and a new high since Mysteel launched the assessment in August 2019.
