SHFE copper and nickel prices slump, aluminum up


The most-traded copper and nickel contracts on the Shanghai Futures Exchange (SHFE) closed much lower on week this week while the exchange’s most-traded aluminum contract closed slightly higher when the daytime trading sessions ended on August 20, exchange data showed.
As of August 20, the SHFE’s October copper contract had plunged Yuan 2,860/tonne ($440/t) from the prior Friday’s settlement price to close the daytime trading session at Yuan 67,050/t, while the October nickel contract had plummeted Yuan 5,970/t on week to close at Yuan 140,010/t.
