Global output among Japan’s eight major automakers approximated 1.95 million units in July, or the first month with an on-year decline of 1.6% since January 2021, Mysteel Global calculated based on each maker’s production data released by the end of August, and the decline was largely due to the IC-chip shortage globally, sources shared.
Their output for July including in and out of Japan was also down 7.2%
