More Chinese steel mills announce stoppages in Sept

ABSTRACT

A total of 22 Chinese steel mills have plans to hold maintenance stoppages this month from a few days to as long as 90 days as of September 2, indicating that the central government’s determination to cut steel output is steadily progressing, a new Mysteel report has found.
The 22 include steelworks among leading state-owned steel companies, such as China Baowu Steel Group and Ansteel Group, the country’s largest and second largest producer, and also small-sized privately-owned steel enterprises such as the 1 million tonnes/year Inner Mongolia Desheng Metal Products Co. Magang (Group) Holding, now a subsidiary of China
