China graphite electrode prices retreat on lower demand


Domestic prices of ultra-high-power (UHP) graphite electrodes across China edged down over the past month as demand from steel mills has dropped further amid the intensified steel-production curbs, market watchers shared on Thursday.
As of September 15, Mysteel’s benchmark price for 600mm UPH grade electrodes in East China’s Jiangsu province had decreased by Yuan 3,000/tonne ($466.2/t) on month to Yuan 21,500/t, while the price of 350mm diameter electrodes, also in Jiangsu, had slid by Yuan 1,000/t on month to Yuan 17,000/t, both including the 13% VAT, according
