WEEKLY: China’s steel export prices soften, trade slack

ABSTRACT

Softer flat-steel markets at home and abroad saw Chinese export prices of hot-rolled coil (HRC) and cold-rolled coil (CRC) reverse down last week after rising for the two prior weeks, according to Mysteel’s latest weekly report.
As of September 17 on the eve of China’s Mid-Autumn Festival celebration (over September 20-21), the export price of SS400 4.75mm HRC had declined by $5/tonne on week to $936/t FOB from North China’s Tianjin port, according to Mysteel’s assessment. The price of SPCC 1.0mm CRC, in the meantime, also reversed
