JFE Steel lifts 400-series flats prices by $88/t for Oct


JFE Steel, Japan’s second largest integrated mill and No.2 stainless producer, has decided to lift its prices of 400-series stainless flats by Yen 10,000/tonne ($88/t) to domestic spot and non-formula-based long-term sales in October, mainly to reflect higher ferrochrome prices, a company official confirmed on Wednesday.
The price adjustment will apply to both hot-rolled (HR) and cold-rolled (CR) coils and sheets, and over April-October, the steel mill has raised prices of such products by Yen 55,000/t in total, according to him.
