BI-WEEKLY: China iron ore concs output and stocks dip

ABSTRACT

Over September 24-October 7, daily iron ore concentrates output among China's 186 mining companies under Mysteel's bi-weekly tracking reversed from three rounds of declines, up 5,100 tonnes/day or 1.1% in two weeks to 480,700 t/d in total, though a still low level, while their finished product stocks had declined for the two survey periods by 99,300 tonnes or 6.7% in two weeks to a new low since mid-August at 1.37 million tonnes partly on better demand.
The recovery iron ore concentrates production was mainly due to the fact that some concentrating plants were able to ramp up their production moderately during the survey period with local power rationing measures eased, but in general power rationing in many parts of China were still in place, especially in
