Japan Sept crude steel output gains YoY 7th month, up 26%


In September, Japan's crude steel output including carbon and special steel gained on the year for the seven consecutive month, or up 25.6% on year to about 8.14 million tonnes, according to the data released by the Japan Iron & Steel Federation (JISF) on October 22, and by last month, Japan's output had returned to the pre-pandemic level, a JISF official commented on the same day.
"Japan's steel output has been growing together with on economic recovery in and out of the country, and the annual output for the current fiscal year will approximate 97 million tonnes if mills maintain the production as of now, or very close to 98.43 million tonnes for FY19," he shared.   Japan's
