Rising demand nudges Chinese electrode prices higher


Signs that prices are strengthening have continued to emerge in China's domestic graphite electrode market, mainly thanks to the firm appetite for electrodes among steel mills both inside and outside China, according to Mysteel's latest survey.
As of November 24, Mysteel's assessed benchmark price of 600mm ultra-high-power (UHP) grade electrodes in East China's Jiangsu province had increased by Yuan 1,200/tonne ($188/t) on week to Yuan 26,200/t, a new high since July 1. That of 350mm diameter electrodes also rose by Yuan 1,200/t on week to Yuan
