China's Nov high-carbon FeCr output jumps 40% MoM


Chinese high-carbon ferrochrome (FeCr) production increased for the second month in November to reach 643,400 tonnes, higher by a sizzling 40.2% from October or by 24.7% on year, according to Mysteel's latest monthly survey. The large on-month rise was mainly due to domestic FeCr smelters beefing up output amid the easing of nationwide power rationing.
"The total volume of high-carbon FeCr made in November was far beyond the normal monthly high of 500,000-530,000 tonnes," a Shanghai-based market insider said.
