BI-WEEKLY: China mines' iron ore output stay low


Over November 19-December 2, average daily production of iron ore concentrates among the 186 Chinese mining companies surveyed by Mysteel remained low at 452,000 tonnes/day. Significantly, continuing thin demand for concs among domestic steelmakers led total stocks held by these miners to climb further over the survey period.
During the two weeks, daily output recovered by a tiny 4,000 t/d or 0.9% on fortnight after a four-week drop, Mysteel's data showed. Over the same survey period, capacity utilization of the concentrating plants operated by the 186 sampled mining companies also climbed by 0.52 percentage point to 57.89%.   Most domestic
