Japan's Nov domestic stainless flats sales up 6% on month


In November, domestic sales of stainless flats including hot-rolled (HR) and cold-rolled (CR) coils and sheets by Japan's 32 major coil centers rose by 5.9% on month to 57,956 tonnes, according to the data released by the Japan Stainless Coil Centers Association (JSCA) on December 28, partly due to improving demand from domestic automakers, market sources noted.
The November sales were also up 8.9% on year, largely owing to the low base last year amid the COVID-19 outbreak, according to sources.   JSCA sales account for about 60% of the country's total stainless flats sales, Mysteel Global notes.   "The rise in ferritic flats use is mainly due to improving vehicle
