FMG ships 48 mln t of iron ore in Oct-Dec, up 2% on year

ABSTRACT

Fortescue Metals Group (FMG), the world's fourth largest iron ore miner, shipped 47.5 million wet tonnes of iron ore over October-December, up by 2% on year and 4% on quarter, according to the firm's latest quarterly report released on January 25. FMG said the increase reflected strong operating performance and healthy inventory levels across the supply chain, together with the successful integration of its Eliwana project in the Western Hub in Western Australia's Pilbara.
Last quarter's strong performance in mining, processing, rail and shipping saw FMG's iron ore shipments climb to a record 93.1 million wet tonnes for the first half of FY22 (June-December 2021), or up 3% from H1 of FY21, the company said.   With the solid first-half year performance, FMG said it has
