Better sentiment lifts Chinese manganese ore prices


Chinese manganese ore prices have recovered somewhat this week thanks to improved market sentiment, with the price of South Africa-origin 36.5% grade Mn ore at North China's Tianjin port reaching Yuan 38.8/dmtu ($5.9/dmtu) including the 13% VAT as of April 28, gaining Yuan 1/dmtu from one week before, according to Mysteel's assessment.
Transactions in the physical market improved to some extent this week as some manganese alloy smelters returned to the market for replenishment before the Labour Day holiday over April 30-May 4, lifting the mood of domestic manganese ore traders.   Meanwhile, the traders were unwilling to concede too much in their offering
