CISA: Members' mid-Jun daily steel output down further


Over June 11-20, daily crude steel output among the member mills of China Iron & Steel Association (CISA) declined for the second 10-day circle, down another 1.3% or 30,700 tonnes/day from the first 10 days of this month to average 2.26 million t/d, according to the association's release on June 23.
The drop was because more Chinese mills had conducted maintenance stoppages or slowed down their production with thinned profits amid the continuous softening in domestic steel prices, sources shared.   Based on these member mills, CISA estimated the country's daily crude steel output nationwide at 3.1 million t/d during mid-June, dipping 0.9%
