WEEKLY: Tangshan billet price still lacks upward impetus

ABSTRACT

Though the price of Q235 square billet in Tangshan in North China's Hebei province, the country's largest steel production hub, had slumped to a 17-month low of Yuan 3,830/tonne ($572.5/t) EXW and including the 13% VAT at the start of last week, by last Friday it had rebounded slightly to reach Yuan 3,900/t, according to Mysteel's assessment. The price was still Yuan 280/t lower on week, however.
