Japan EAF mills slow down operations on power shortage

Japan's heavy power consumers, including electric-arc-furnace (EAF) steelmakers in the area covered by Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO) were directly asked by TEPCO to reduce their power consumption on Monday afternoon due to power shortage over the country's severe summer heat. And sources expected the power use curb to remain in place for coming days and are concerned about the impact.
