NBS: China's July CPI and PPI rise 2.7% and 4.2% YoY


For July, China's Consumer Price Index (CPI) increased 2.7% on year and 0.5% higher on month, while the country's Producer Price Index (PPI) went up 4.2% on year, though the pace of the on-year incline was slower than that of June and the index was also down 1.7% on month, according to the latest data released by the country's National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) on Wednesday morning.
Among the key CPI elements, food prices rose 3% on month in July, against the on-month decline of 1.6% of June, mainly due to the surge in pork and fresh vegetable prices, noted Dong Lijuan, a senior statistician with the NBS.   Chinese pork prices soared by 25.6% on month and 20.2%
