CAAM: China’s H1 auto sales down YoY, June up MoM Jul 11, 2019
Production and sales of automobiles in China in this year’s first half continued trending down, though June sales witnessed a month-on-month increase, thanks to the temporary demand recovery from the implementation of new exhaust emission standards from July 1, Mysteel Global learned from the latest release from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) on July 10.
Chinese production of air conditioners, washing machines, refrigerators, and televisions by the country’s home appliance makers continued to increase during January-May, according to the latest data released by China’s National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), with that of air-conditioners still witnessing the sharpest growth among the four, rising by 11% year on year to reach 97.46 million units during the first five months.
China’s Premier Li Keqiang drafted a few economic development targets including a gross domestic product (GDP) growth at 6-6.5% and proposed a series of measures to support the domestic economic performance for 2019 when delivering his government report at the National People’s Congress annual session on March 5.

Changzhou city in East China’s Jiangsu province is among the latest to join Beijing’s drive to improve air quality, with the city explicitly instructing 48 local steel mills to continue to cut their daily steel output beginning July 25 and lasting possibly until year’s end, an official from Changzhou City Environmental Protection Bureau confirmed on July 30.
