WEEKLY: China’s iron ore concentrate prices firm

Domestic iron ore concentrate prices across China generally stabilized in major ore-producing regions over July 22-26, as miners were optimistic about the market and unwilling to cut their prices, even though prices of imported ore had dipped during the week, according to Mysteel’s latest weekly survey released late last Friday.
Most steelmakers, especially those in North China’s Hebei province observing strict production curbs, had less interest in procurement both of imported and domestic iron ores, given the low margins on finished steels these days against the high cost of steelmaking.
