DAILY: China spot steel trade doubles after typhoon Lekima

China’s steel trading, especially that in East and South China, rebounded substantially on Monday when China’s domestic long steel prices continued to decline and the super typhoon Lekima, after thrashing the regions over the weekend, moved northward.
On Monday, the spot trading volume of construction steel comprising rebar, wire rod and bar-in-coil hit 213,799 tonnes/day nationwide, doubling the tonnage on August 9, and the trading in East China, in particular, recovered 71% from last Friday to 117,369 t/d, according to Mysteel’s daily survey across 237 Chinese steel
