Japan's Sept steel exports up 19% on year or 1% on month


In September, Japan's steel exports of all kinds approximated 2.94 million tonnes, up 19.2% on year and 0.7% higher on month, according to the preliminary data released by Japan's Ministry of Finance on October 20, which may have been maximum volume that Japanese steel mills could allocate for overseas sales, sources shared.
The country's steel exports, thus, increased on year for the fifth month, indicating the remaining robust demand from the overseas market, and over January-September, Japan's steel exports added up to about 25.63 million tonnes, or up 4.9% on year, the ministry data showed.   A Tokyo-based steel trader observed that Japan's steel
