China's ferrosilicon output at a historical low


Daily FeSi output among the 136 Chinese smelters Mysteel tracks reached an average of 9,788 tonnes/day on October 15, a historical low since Mysteel commenced tracking the data on July 26 2019. Output has been steadily declining since August 27, mainly due to production curbs in Northwest China's Ningxia and Qinghai, with that between October 1 and October 15 slumping by 1,880 t/d, the data show.
Smelters in Qinghai had been requested to cut production by 60% starting October 11 as part of local government measures to reduce power consumption.
